Hace un par de días la sensación mexicana a nivel mundial Peso Pluma lanzó su álbum Genesis, un material de 14 canciones que han sido mi introducción al cantante. Y tal vez anteriormente no le había entrado al chaval debido a que no me llamaba la atención, pero este material, no está mal.
Durante los últimos meses el nombre de Peso Pluma ha sonado en cientos de platicas donde el tema es la música, la apología a la violencia y hasta el corte de pelo mullet que me armé en los últimos meses que casualmente se compaginó con la popularidad del cantante.
Sin embargo, no me había dado la oportunidad más que dos veces, de forma involuntaria, de escuchar un poco de lo que él hace. La primera, de forma no tan agradable con el remix de “La bebé” y la segunda en una visita a La Roma Records donde se lo pusieron como parte de un espacio de variedad y complicidad musical. Esta segunda vez lo escuché más a detalle y salvo la voz un poco aguardientosa, la instrumentación completamente acústica me agradó.
Pero no me puse exigente y analizando, muchas de las voces del rock n´ roll y del punk que tanto escucha no son las más agradables a primera escucha y en ocasiones son hasta más feas. Así que simplemente era un artista que ni me iba ni me venía, todo bien, nada de hate, pero no me llamaba ni un poquito.
Sin embargo, siguiendo las tendencias, mí curiosidad reporteril musical (jaajaja) y crear un poco de contenido en tendencia, la verdad, me orilló a escuchar su nuevo material, Genesis”. A su máquina, que rollo con el nombre, muy religioso y un poco en compás con el impacto casi religioso que se le ha dado en la cultura pop.
Bueno, empezaré con algo muy general, sigo sin entender muy bien el concepto y la identificación de “los corridos tumbados”, pero me queda en claro que es más contemporáneo, con morrillos que les mama el género, con los mismos temas que los corridos aquellos que escuchaban nuestros abuelitos y papás; Así mismo con una identificación visual que se ve muy influenciada por la cultura gringa, un poco de Flow en la ropa, marcas mamalonas, relación con algo del género urbano y ya.
Ahora, dejando de lado la estética, sentí que escuché un álbum más de corridos como alguno de los Tigres del Norte o los Tucanes de Tijuana. Ya que la producción, salvo algunos arreglos a voces con auto tune, fue completamente instrumental acústica. Lo cual habla mucho de la importancia de la fidelidad al género de los corridos que Doble P le da a su trabajo.
El impacto que Peso Pluma ha tenido en la industria actual en general se ve reflejado en el número de colaboraciones con las que cuenta este álbum. Colaboraciones obvias como con Natanael Cano y Junior H, que también son exponentes del género, no se discuten, pero también cuenta con canciones con Eladio Carrion, Tito Double P, Jasiel Nuñez, Los Dareyes de la Sierra, Luis R Conriquez y Gabito Ballesteros.
Génesis
Me parece que desmenuzar el álbum tema por tema ya es un poco exagerado de mi parte, Sin embargo, presento algunas anotaciones por canciones que me atraparon por una u otra razón. Para empezar, los nombres de las canciones son tan interpretativos, la primer rolita Rosa Pastel, pensé era un cover de aquella bonita canción de Belanova, pero nos habla del color de alguna sustancia cual meta azul de Walter White.
Luna, la rolita que comparte con Junior H, es una balada que llega al corazón con mucho sentimiento y neta hasta dan ganas de llorar en algunos versos que, en efecto, son poesía.
Por otra parte, el precursor principal, desde mi punto de vista, de los corridos tumbados, Natanael Cano, también tiene una aparición en Carnal, una rolita que simplemente pone en cara todo el trip de medios y la industria que, si bien no rivalizan a ambos cantantes, los ponen en cara dentro del género y quién es mejor. En esta rolita simplemente muestran la camaradería y el clásico “jalamos parejo”.
Esos aires y requinteados de Bye son una marcha fúnebre adecuada para despedir el álbum. Y a pesar de ser una canción de desamor, es un acomodo perfecto que lleva al material en un concepto que llega con un chingazo fuerte, recorre la amistad, los vicios, los patrones y la propia vida para culminar con un sentimiento de dolor que se siente al final de muchas cosas; Pero que a la vez es esperanzadora, porque, así como va la industria, hay Doble P para rato.
Cabe destacar que gran parte del sonido de este álbum se debe a la producción e instrumentación que los músicos crearon. No sé quien sea la mente detrás de esos sonidos, arreglos y composición nota por nota, si el mismo Doble P o quién, pero un 90% de lo que a mi me atrapó fue toda esta labor musical, lo cual de verdad creo, convierte el álbum en uno de los más importantes del año, dentro del pop contemporáneo.
Sigo sin ser fan de Peso Pluma, no es algo que pondría en mi playlist de camino al centro o para trapear. Sin embargo, siento es algo que no me disgusta escuchar de vez en vez, cuando a alguien se le ocurra ponerlo o en alguna fiesta donde suene en una playlist predeterminada como “Éxitos fiesteros” o “Rolitas pa la party”.
