Este fin de semana nos lanzamos a la recién inaugurada expo “En casa con mis monstruos” de Guillermo del Toro, la cual estará en el Museo de las Artes Universidad de Guadalajara hasta el 27 de octubre de este año; será el único recinto en el que podremos visitar la expo en México.
“Ojalá y en algún rincón de esta visita encuentres la inspiración en lo monstruoso, y la belleza de lo oscuro y olvidado”

Con esa frase Del Toro nos da la bienvenida a su muestra; pero antes de entrar a lo mero bueno tuvimos que esperar en una sala increíble, acondicionada con muebles y decoración estilo victoriano, cortinas largas de color rojo, candelabros con las manos de El Hombre Pálido, la figura del cineasta en cera colocado en la esquina, una barra de bebidas de un costado del la sala y una terraza del otro.
En grupos de aproximadamente 20 personas y con un guía, comenzamos el recorrido al atravesar un pasillo con ojos por todos lados. Inmediatamente, después del pasillo, empiezan las ocho secciones del museo: Infancia e Inocencia; Cuarto de Lluvia; Victoriana; Magia y Ocultismo; Cine, Comics y Pop; Frankenstein; Los otros/ Nosotros/ Los Monstruos y Muerte y más allá.

Dentro de cada sección hay objetos que han marcado la vida del cineasta, réplicas exactas de sus monstruos como el Fauno y El Hombre Pálido y la estrella de su película más reciente, El Hombre Anfibio de The Shape of Water; vestuarios y utilería originales de Hellboy, Crimson Peak, Cronos, etc; concept art de diferentes películas y hasta cuadernillos de apuntes del cineasta.
El recorrido dura de dos a tres horas y son alrededor de 900 piezas que te adentran en un mundo oscuro y fantástico, curado de forma impecable y con alto detalle por Eugenio Caballero, quien anteriormente fue director de arte en la película El Laberinto del Fauno.

La muestra es una joya para todos los que hemos disfrutado de sus largometrajes. Nada de lo que les contemos se compara con la experiencia de estar ahí, porque es como si él mismo (Guillermo del Toro) te abriera la puerta a su casa y te enseñara uno a uno sus “tiliches”, cómo el cineasta los llama.
Los boletos para entrada general tienen un costo de 180 pesos y pueden comprarse en la taquilla del museo, pero lo más recomendable para asegurar tu visita es adquirirlos en línea, en la página oficial encasaconmismonstruos.com
