Alba Messa es una actriz, cantante y compositora de origen español con una pasión por crear historias. Muestra de ello es su más reciente sencillo Ella Ella, el cual cuenta con la participación de Zazo & Gxurmet.
Desde muy pequeña Alba ha tenido un acercamiento importante a los escenarios y la vida artística. Sin embargo, como ella lo expresa en su presentación en youtube, esto no significa que su enfoque artístico siempre haya sido claro.
Esto ha traído consigo diferentes etapas en su vida que han sido esenciales para mostrar su lado artístico, no solo como actriz, sino también como cantante y compositora. Lo cual la trae ahora a presentar su más reciente sencillo Ella Ella.
Pero para conocer más acerca de esta canción y un poco de la etapa actual de su vida artística, qué mejor que Alba para platicarlo. Por lo que tuvimos una breve charla digital con ella para conocer también algunas canciones que le han inspirado.
Para iniciar, es de destacar que esta canción se sale un poco de los ritmos manejados anteriormente por Alba. Ya que gran parte de su música hasta el momento contaba con ritmos pop y aunque algunas canciones contaban con arreglos urbanos, esta canción da un giro total.
“Este cambio se dio de una manera natural y no premeditada. A mí la música me aporta libertad y yo no le puedo poner límites ni me puedo poner límites, sería incoherente para mí. He hecho muchas canciones urbanas que no han salido a la luz todavía y ni sé si saldrán, para mí no era la primera vez. Esta canción empezó con la guitarra de Jack Sheehan, a partir de ahí creamos lo demás. Para mí, la música está para explorarla, para ampliar mis márgenes… y sin decidirlo, nació ‘Ella Ella’”.
Este resultado también se ve reflejado por la participación de los madrileños Zazo & Gxurmet. Quienes han logrado sonar gracias a su estilo urbano, principalmente trap, lo que le da un sonido vocal e instrumental muy peculiar y diferente a lo clásico de Alba.
“Escucho bastante urbano desde hace años, cada vez más. Ellos me gustaban, he escuchado alguno de sus temas en bucle durante días. Buscaba ampliar la perspectiva del universo de la canción, y a nivel musical colaborar con dos artistas con dinámicas en apariencia distintas a mí podía nutrir y podía mejorar mi propio trabajo. Y así fue. La suma de talentos es una de las cosas que más me motivan en la vida. Mi búsqueda no está en encontrar gente como yo, sino en encontrar gente diferente a mí y a poder ser mejor que yo, para poder aprender, crecer y ampliar mi visión”.
Y justo dentro de la ampliación de esta visión parece simplemente un proyecto relacionado con la música. Pero en la vida artística de Alba Messa la actuación y las producciones visuales han tenido una gran repercusión.
Por lo que Ella Ella no es la excepción, ya que es un tema inspirado en la serie Killing Eve de Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Específicamente en la relación de las protagonistas, llevando de esta forma a Alba a crear una historia nueva.
“Partí inspirada por esta relación y esto me abrió puertas en la imaginación y también puertas a recuerdos personales hasta crear un concepto y una historia nueva que no es descriptiva de la serie aunque tiene elementos, como el disparo y la sangre”.
Por otra parte, un poco alejado del nuevo sencillo, es de conocimiento de muchos la situación mundial a causa de Covid. Por lo que miles de artistas se han visto afectados, no solo en un ingreso de shows en vivo, sino de forma creativa. Y no precisamente de manera negativa, sino afectados en cuanto a los procesos de gestión de obras.
Y sin duda Alba también pasó por esto, aunque durante los primeros días, la saturación de información, el cómo se desarrollaban las cosas y cómo cambiaba todo le causó un poco de malestar. Sin embargo, para su fortuna, España ahora ya se encuentra en un momento donde las actividades se están retomando. Por lo que queda reflexionar y ver un poco hacia atrás en los meses para aplicar lo aprendido durante estos días de encierro.
“Pasados unos días me conecté con la posibilidad de aportar algo a las demás personas y creé el track by track de mi disco al que llamé ‘Te lo cuento con todas las consecuencias’ y una canción inspirada por la vivencia: ‘Tú qué vas a hacer’, en la que me cuestiono qué vamos a hacer con todo lo que estamos aprendiendo y con todo lo que estamos descubriendo en esta nueva situación, cuando algún día acabe. Ahora pienso más en ¿quién voy a ser ahora?, ¿quién quiero y necesito ser ahora?. Compuse muchas canciones y desarrollé ideas, la verdad es que pasé un confinamiento muy bueno, de mucho autocuidado y aprendizaje. Sin duda esta realidad que estamos viviendo está siendo una auténtica revolución personal para mí”.
Por último, Alba nos compartió que uno de sus mayores temores a nivel artístico es no poder hacer lo que quiera y necesite a nivel artístico. Y bien ha demostrado que durante su evolución artística este miedo es tan solo un obstáculo superado. Por lo que ha logrado cambiar de ritmos sin voltear atrás, crear historias a base de la música y el arte en general. Así como destacar en varios ámbitos a nivel artístico, manteniendo siempre una relación indirecta pero fija.
